Didier Vanuytvanck started playing the drums at age eleven, after trying out the piano for two years. As a teenager he mostly enjoyed playing pop and rock, but around age sixteen he discovered jazz. As the years went by he dedicated himself to jazz music more and more and studied drums with Bruno Castellucci at the Conservatoire Royal of Brussels. He obtained his Masters degree in 2008.

Didier plays in several groups, mostly jazz but also pop, rock and world music. His current and past projects are: ‘Thomas Champagne Trio’, ‘Mess Trio’, ‘Zola Quartet’, ‘Camille-Alban Spreng Quartet’ and lately he has also joined the rock power-trio ‘Garner’.
