UMBRELLA IN THE RAIN
Written by Sara So Far

On the vast, vast shore

I want to find a boat turned over

To live under there and disappear

Blooming soul with a hidden face

I want the rain to fall and cover me

to run for shelter under a tree

Fulfill my need of something overhead

to cover up my worldly stains

I love my my umbrella

I love it when it rains

To be out in bad weather

Need a smile upon my face

I put you up and ask your wings

to hide me from the light of day

Observing all, but seen by none

till the wind comes and takes my shield away

I want my lover’s arms to hold me

surround and ’round ’round me

To live in there and disappear

in never-ending tight embrace

I want the rain to fall and cover me

to drive me to find shelter under a tree

Fulfill my need of something overhead

to cover up my worldly stains

I love my my umbrella

I love it when it rains

To be out in bad weather

I’ll paint a smile upon my face

I put you up and ask your wings

to cover up my wandering gaze

Observing all, but seen by none

till the clouds will retreat and expose my face

I feel the weight of eternity

pounding like the waves

Let me get soaked in the ocean, lost in the universe

just for my soul to be found and saved

I love my my umbrella

I love it when it rains

To be out in bad weather

The smile dripping off my face

I put you up and ask your wings

to cover up my anxious heart

Observing all, but seen by none

till the light of God’s face melts my fortress apart
