With nothing we came<\/span><\/p>\n
and with that we built a house<\/span><\/p>\n
so high that its shoulders<\/span><\/p>\n
now proudly tower above the crowds<\/span><\/p>\n
We paved the streets with wisdom<\/span><\/p>\n
from north, south, west and east<\/span><\/p>\n
on these our children will march to war<\/span><\/p>\n
or stroll forever in joyful peace<\/span><\/p>\n
 <\/p>\n
Hey, we’re a city full of strangers<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n
All people on their own<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n
We’ve come and flocked together<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n
And now we are at home<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n
 <\/p>\n
We bring the seeds of memory<\/span><\/p>\n
to be planted in a garden green<\/span><\/p>\n
Many more stories high they grow<\/span><\/p>\n
and hold a secret rarely seen<\/span><\/p>\n
There are some dwelling up there<\/span><\/p>\n
moving in their quarters<\/span><\/p>\n
Finding existence in the trees that we speak<\/span><\/p>\n
in the forest that grows from our hearts<\/span><\/p>\n
 <\/p>\n
Hey, we’re a city full of strangers<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n
All people on their own<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n
We’ve come and flocked together<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n
And now we are at home<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

Words came with power but the rain was stronger<\/span><\/p>\n
and washed them away, let me stand on the edge<\/span><\/p>\n
as the clouds break open, my eyes they open<\/span><\/p>\n
In walks the light that gives birth to the day<\/span><\/p>\n
 <\/p>\n
It’s the light we all drink, we all drink from the same<\/span><\/p>\n
It’s the water that pours on each one like rain<\/span><\/p>\n
It’s the pleasure of love but not without pain<\/span><\/p>\n
Or we turn it around and it turns into shame<\/span><\/p>\n
 <\/p>\n
There’s the master and servant, existing today<\/span><\/p>\n
in the alleys of one hundred nights on the way<\/span><\/p>\n
There’s the getting lost in what’s needless to say<\/span><\/p>\n
So let’s leave it unsaid and decide to stay…<\/span><\/p>\n
