And The Echo
Written by Sara So Far

Distant sounds of the travelled roads

On which my footprints fade away

One, two, three, four are the walls around me

They seem to frown even though I obey

A thousand are the thoughts that rush

Around my tired frame

Single is the door that keeps me

Enclosed in the same, the same, the same

And the echo, the echo

Of the world

And the echo, the echo

Of the world

And the echo, the echo

Of the world

And the echo, the echo

Of the world

I’d invite you in but you’re not my kin

That’s just the way that the stars align

The blood that flows beneath your well-tanned skin

Ain’t pulsing with the same trouble as mine

A million are the longings that rush

Up and down my crescent-shaped spine

But no burden is too heavy

When its weight is merely time

And the echo, the echo

Of the world

And the echo, the echo

Of the world

And the echo, the echo

Of the world

And the echo, the echo

Of the world
